Luck

Luck is a score that comes from the items you wear and affects the loot of the creatures you kill. Type [sans in the game to see your total luck.

What it does

When a creature dies, three separate rolls are made; luck is the chance of success on each roll:

  1. One more item in the loot,
  2. One more property on a magic item that drops,
  3. Stronger properties.

What luck does not affect: the amount of gold, which item drops, which property comes, skill gain, crafting success, fishing and treasure map chests.

How much luck gives what

The return diminishes: the first few hundred points are cheap, after that they get expensive.

100 13%
300 24%

Fortune Reading

The fortune teller stands in the mage shops of Britain, Moonglow, Vesper and Trinsic (in Ilshenar too); a purple F mark on the map. Left-click the fortune teller → Fortune Reading. For 5,000 gold you get +150 luck for 24 hours; if you have a reading again while one is running, the time is extended, the bonus does not double. The fee comes from your backpack, or from your bank if that is not enough.

Whose luck counts

When the loot is generated, the luck of the player who did the most damage to that creature is used, and the result decides the whole loot. So one person's luck set improves the whole group's loot. Luck is read at the moment of death.
